Mission of Work

Governmental and Institutional Officials in various geometries’ structures at national, European and international levels are constantly and increasingly faced with shortcomings in the access to readily available high quality information within the fields of Aerospace, Defence, Security and Cyber needed to strengthen decision-making processes in very short timeframes.

Our newly extended Grouping AD&S have had many and varied discussions regarding this topic with trusted professional peers for several years now, during which it has become apparent that the sometimes complex emerging technologies bring clear cross-sector benefits and improved system efficiency within Aerospace, Defence and Security. However, such developments also bring requirements for new skills and inherently new security challenges. To address these issues appropriately requires a coordinated multi-sector access to high quality information and training, complemented by an inter-institutional cooperation at national and inter-governmental levels (including European and Transatlantic). Such cooperation benefits from the exchanges of high quality information. The latter, for understandable fundamental reasons, have not always been present within the very  security sensitive fields of Aerospace, Defence and Security.

Therefore, our Grouping has decided to provide decision-makers with training sessions in the form of High Level Courses encompassing:

  • Fundamental information on International Organizations and other Governmental arrangements: mandates, legal frameworks, policies, strategies, implementation plans, roadmaps, and legal constraints;
  • High quality and up-to-date information on emerging Digital and Space-based technologies and their potential impact in policy making, development of strategies and implementation plans at Governmental and  various Institutional levels;
  • Strategic forward thinking including legacy issues (procedures and equipment) concerning matters of Research and Technology, Innovation, Development, Funding, Procurement and Interoperability;
  • The evolution of challenges and threats per sector and across sectors (Aerospace, Defence and Security) including Cybersecurity;
  • Legal and procurement frameworks inter-linkage and obstacles to their implementation in adequate (fit for purpose) timeframes;
  • Systems life-cycle overview;
  • Investment strategies and new business models for cost saving efficient outcomes at national level with significant repercussions at European and international levels;
  • Cooperation programmes at national, European and international levels;
  • Planning, operational, and societal benefits and challenges.

The above list recognises the crucial role played by Public Administrations, in their various levels, in addressing Strategic Investment’s decisions, Public Procurement, Economic Security, Cyber Resilience of Critical Infrastructures, and the many other critical aspects raised by the implementation of Digital and Space-based technologies.

Our intention is to provide events held in trusted and secure environments as the Military Clubs and or Embassies in Brussels/Belgium and London/United Kingdom are, in appropriate geometries of participation, with the benefit of high level experts with hands-on daily professional experience and deep involvement in these important matters.
